Q: What is this organization?
A: This is the organization made by the Muslim physicians and other allied health professional with the aims of. 1. To Promote better understanding, appreciation and propagation of Islam.
2. To take active part in charitable and medical relief work, either alone or in co- operation with organizations with similar objectives worldwide.
3. To arrange lectures, seminars, workshops etc. to warn and discourage medical and non-medical personnel, especially young boys and girls, Muslims or non-Muslims of immoral practices.
4. To promote medical education, research and publications. 5. To pursue the policy of unity among all Muslims.
6. The ASMA, UK will fully support the vision and practice of Islamic Shariaah in all walks of life and co-operate with other organizations that have a similar plan and agenda.
7. The ASMA, UK will pursue all general issue effecting Muslim community like time off for Friday and Eid Prayers during working hours, provision of halal food in the hospital for the Muslim patients and doctors, arranging circumcision under NHS and other issue effecting Muslim religious and social obligations.
Q: Why there is a need of another organization when there are many like these?
A: The work of social and medical welfare is so vast that no single organization can say that they have enough resources and manpower that they can do this work. We would like to co-operate with other people with the similar aim.
Q: Who can become the member of this organization? A: Any Muslim doctor or allied health professional can become the member of this organization, provided he/she abides by the constitution, fill the membership form and pay the annual dues.
Q: How this organization plans to fulfill the aims? A: By mobilizing mass opinion by lectures, seminars, and newsletters highlighting the burning social and medical problems.
Q: Will there be any social activities of this organization? A: Yes. Family and youth programs will be arranged. We will arrange Eid Milan, Iftar parties and picnics. We will try to arrange group holidays, nationally and internationally, keeping in view of halal food and prayers provision. Wel will endeavor to organize Haj and Umraah and visit to Holy places for individuals and groups.
Q: What will be the sources of funds for this organization? A: It will receive donations from individuals and groups with no strings attached. We will set an educational and relief fund to do relief work, and to promote research, publications and provision of assistance to deserving Muslim medical students and physician, newly arrived in the country.
ASMA, UK will train young doctors and prepare them for leadership.
ASMA,UK will become the member of Federation of Islamic Medical Association. The delegates of IMA of South Africa, Egypt, Pakistan, Malaysia, Sudan, North North America, Jordan, UAE and Trinidad formed this federation.
